Who We Are
Next Generation Government is a youth-led political movement committed to economic independence, accountable governance and the full participation of young South Africans in building this country.
NGG was founded by Kwanda Summers Ntombela in response to a gap in the political landscape: a space where young people could lead, not just follow. We believe that the future of this country belongs to the youth, and we are building a movement that reflects that belief.
The political, economic, and social liberation of the people of South Africa remains incomplete. Millions of young people are locked out of the economy, with no clear path from education to work. Corruption and broken promises have left young South Africans disillusioned with politics as usual. Policies that shape young lives are too often written by people furthest from those realities.
NGG exists to organise citizens excluded by poverty, unemployment, inequality, violence, corruption and social neglect, and to provide a political home for the youth, led by the youth. We work at community, branch, provincial and national level to mobilise, empower and hold power to account.
For decades, young people have been told to wait their turn. NGG believes the youth are ready to lead now, while drawing wisdom from elders as advisors, not rulers.
A just, inclusive and empowered South Africa led by a new generation committed to real freedom, where young natives and all citizens can fully participate in the economic, social, cultural and political life of the nation.
To organise, empower and mobilise young people and all communities excluded by the current system, in order to achieve political participation, economic justice, social dignity, ethical leadership, accountable governance, African advancement and community empowerment.
"Young People Will Govern."
Not tomorrow. Now. NGG is building the structures, the skills and the political will to make that a reality across every province of South Africa.
